Sacramento Police have released new videos showing the violent arrest of Nandi Cain Jr earlier this month.
A witness filmed the 24-year-old’s arrest for jaywalking on April 11 and the original video showed an officer grabbing Cain by the throat before punching him.
The new videos, released Thursday, show the confrontation from a distance, as another officer arrives on the scene.
Another video shows Cain vigorously kicking and shouting profanities after he is placed in the back of a police cruiser.

New video shows the aftermath of Nandi Cain’s (left, in which t-shirt) arrest early this month in Sacramento. The above dash cam footage was taken as another officer arrived on the scene
Officers are seen putting Cain in the back seat of one of the police cars after his arrest for jaywalking
Cain then calms down as officers take out a camera to photograph his injuries, including a torn earlobe and swollen eye.
At another point, an officer asks Cain if he knew a warrant was out for his arrest.
Sacramento police said an officer had tried to stop Cain for a violation at Cypress and Grand at around 5pm.
The department is reportedly reviewing the video.
Cain was alter released from jail because police didn’t have enough evidence to hold him.
Cain is then seen kicking and yelling profanities in the back of the seat while he is restrained
At one point, police opened the door so they could take pictures of Cain’s injuries
One officer held Cain down while another put addition restraints on Cain
For the rest of the video, Cain sat silent in the corner of the car
The officer who punched Cain has been placed on administrative leave.
‘I never witnessed anything like that. He just kept hitting him, and kept hitting him, and I was like, “Oh my God…why you hitting him like that? Why you hitting him like that?”‘ Cain’s friend Naomi Montaie told Fox 40. Montaie filmed the original video.
Things are already looking heated when the video begins, as Cain drops his jacket and stands defiantly in the road in front of the cop.
Montaie, who is in the passenger seat of a car in the road, tells her ‘nephew’ – really just a close friend, she later said – to calm down.
The initial video was taken by Cain’s friend and showed a white officer choking him and punching him in the face while trying to arrest him for jaywalking
But it’s the cop who loses his cool first. Cain remains motionless as the officer strides forward, grabs him with both hands around the throat and forces him back.
The cop pushes Cain to the ground and is seen sitting on his chest and repeatedly punching him in the face as Montaie’s car gets closer.
The officer continues punching Cain as she gets out of the vehicle, then twists the man’s arm behind his back and cuffs him as first one, then five more officers appear on the scene.
‘Hey, why you beating him like that?’ shouts Montaie, horrified. ‘Oh Jesus! I seen this, Lord. He’s breaking his arm!’
The officer who punched Cain has been put on administrative leave while the department investigates the matter
She appears to be on the verge of tears at one point.
Montaie said police told her afterwards that Cain had been stopped for jaywalking.
Cain’s girlfriend, Antoinette Stewart, told Fox 40 that Cain, the co-manager of a TV store, was a ‘goofy and spirited’ man, and had never been to jail.
‘I just want some answers,’ she said. ‘What happened?’
