The world’s most expensive taco costs $25,000

A Mexican chef is serving up the world’s most expensive taco for $25,000 — but no one’s biting.

Juan Licerio Alcala, who works at the luxury hotel Grand Velas Los Cabos in Cabo San Lucas, started selling the Kobe beef, lobster, beluga caviar and black-truffle Brie cheese- stuffed taco last month, Grub Street reported this week.

The gut-busting medley is stuffed into a “a gold-infused corn tortilla” and topped with “exotic” salsa made with rare chilies, tequila and coffee, he said.

“I explain [to guests] the delicacy, the technique, and the harmony that they will lift from the plate, and that it’s worth it,” Alcala told the website.

But no one has plunked down the dinero needed to buy the thing yet, and and some foodies griped that the pricey concoction is an abomination of the classic street food dish.

“Most expensive taco in the world …followed shortly by the most expensive trip to the restroom in the world,” podcast host Matt Peters tweeted.

To order the taco, customers must stay in the hotel’s luxury presidential suite, and plunk down a $12,500 deposit.

Alcala, of Durango, Mexico, suggests pairing it with the a $150,000 bottle of Pasión Azteca, the world’s most expensive tequila, of course.
