The farmer, named as Bunrot Khamkasikan, 56, had been trying to inflate the tyre on the left hand side of his tractor when he was killed in the freak accident.
It is believed the explosion caused the wheel rim on the vehicle to become detached and it flew off, hitting him in the face and killing him instantly.

The accident happened in the north western Thai province of Nikhom Thung Pho Thalee last week.
According to Thai Visa, the farmer’s sister-in-law said that he had been out in his tractor before the incident fertilising his fields.
She added that he came back to his house for lunch and told her he wanted to do some maintenance on his vehicle.
However, soon after she heard a massive explosion and rushed outside to find him dead in a pool of blood.
He had suffered multiple fractures to his arms and fatal injuries to his head.
His body was also found two metres away from the tractor due to the force of the explosion.
The accident is also said to have happened while his wife was away visiting relatives nearby.
Police have been investigating his death but have suggested it was an accident.
They believe it was caused by the man putting too much air into the tyre without using a gauge, which caused it to overfill and exploded.
