Teen with mystery burns gets ditched after flight by caretaker

A 16-year-old girl with severe burns was ditched at JFK Airport by her caretaker, sources said.

The teen had flown in on an EgyptAir flight from Cairo on Saturday — making it all the way through customs at JFK — before the caretaker disappeared and left her stranded, a law-enforcement official said.

The girl told investigators she had been horrifically burned in a gas explosion at her home in Egypt, the official added.

It could not be confirmed, though, whether her story was true.

Authorities later launched a probe to find out how she was allowed on the airliner with such severe injuries.

“Its amazing she got on the plane,” the official said.

“Usually, they stop you if you’re coughing. How she got on the plane with these types of burns is a mystery. Something clearly happened to her; what, we don’t know.”

The teen was transported to Nassau University Medical Center and was being treated in its burn unit.
