Teacher charged with kidnapping teen went on Cialis and KY jelly shopping spree

The Tennessee teacher charged with abducting his 15-year-old student skipped town with Cialis pills and went shopping for KY Jelly and chocolate while on the lam for more than a month, according to new court papers.

Tad Cummins, 50, filled a prescription for Cialis at a Columbia, Tenn. pharmacy on March 10 — three days before allegedly ditching town with student Elizabeth Thomas, the federal complaint filed Thursday says.

His wife Jill told investigators that he was prescribed the drug, which treats erectile dysfunction and prolongs sexual performance.

Three days later, the pair was spotted at a Walmart in Guymon, Okla. where he used cash to purchase items including “women’s razors, chocolate, cheese cubes and KY Jelly,” court papers say.

Cummins and Thomas were spotted on store surveillance video in the only sighting of the two during their nearly six-week disappearance.

The day the pair went missing, Cummins borrowed his wife Jill’s 2015 Nissan Rogue and lied that he had a job interview at the Williamson County Medical Center.
“Subsequent investigation revealed that Cummins had no scheduled interview,” the complaint says.

That night, Jill came home to a note written by her husband, saying he went to Virginia Beach or the DC area to “clear his head” but that he’d be back, court papers say.

He urged his wife not to call the cops and denied doing anything wrong — but he asked that she forgive him, according to the complaint.

Investigators said Tad fudged information to obtain a $4,500 loan to “meet their financial needs during his suspension from work without pay,” court papers say.
“[Jill] reported that the money was missing, along with two handguns, clothes and toiletry items,” the complaint says.

Tad was busted Thursday morning on state and federal charges after a tipster called cops to report that he and Thomas had been living in a cabin in a rural part of northern California for a week and a half.

Thomas was also found safe and unharmed, authorities said.

“I’m glad this is over,” Tad said after his arrest, according to CNN.

Thomas is set to be reunited with her family Friday.

“We’re very happy that we’re going to see her again,” the dad said on “Good Morning America.”

He added that he believed his daughter was brainwashed.

Tad faces state charges of aggravated kidnapping and sexual contact with a minor and federal charges of transporting a minor across state lines for the purpose of criminal sexual intercourse.

He could get a minimum of 10 years in the slammer on the federal charges alone.
