Is Jimmy Garoppolo’s time in New England up?
It remains unclear despite a cryptic post that has been live on quarterback’s Instagram account since early Friday morning, alluding to a potential departure from the Patriots.
“So grateful for my time in England. Peace out Boston,” the post was captioned, alongside a snap of Garoppolo from Super Bowl XLIX.
While the photo in question has already caused an eruption on social media, NFL Network’s Ian Rapaport tweeted Friday that a member of Garoppolo’s inner circle believed the post to be a “hack.”
Garoppolo has yet to take down the shot, though. The image offers a similar sentiment to a post he shared less than a week ago, in which he holds up a two fingers in his Patriots uniform with the caption, “#LaFamilgia.”
As day two of the NFL’s free agency gets underway, all eyes are on Tom Brady’s backup as the quarterback markets gets more and more scarce.
Following the Browns’ blockbuster trade with the Texans Thursday, in which Cleveland acquired Houston’s offseason bust Brock Osweiler and a 2018 second-round draft pick, it appears the AFC North club could increase their efforts to make a run at Garoppolo.
It’s unclear if the Patriots are willing to deal the 25-year-old without another viable backup currently on the roster.
