The death of a Gary man found shot in a car early Friday is being investigated as a homicide, according to Gary police.
Gary police responded to a shots fired call at 3:16 a.m. in the 200 block of Ellsworth Street where officers found a man unresponsive in a vehicle, police said in a release.
Daryl K. Turner-Lyons, 36, of the 800 block of Johnson Street in Gary, was declared dead at the scene at 4:50 a.m. by the Lake County coroner’s office. Turner-Lyons died of gunshot wounds, according to a release from the coroner.
