A Manhattan dad fought off an apparently deranged man he feared was trying to grab his infant son on the Upper East Side Sunday, police said.
The father was pushing his 5-month-old in a carriage at East 72nd Street and First Avenue at around 5 p.m. when a stranger ran up to them from behind and shouted unintelligibly.
When the man reached into the carriage, the quick-thinking father, who was not identified, elbowed him in the face, and the stranger ran off.
He was disheveled, possibly homeless, in his 40s, and has a glass eye. He’s about 6 feet tall and more than 200 pounds.
