A brush fire ignited Tuesday night in the hills above Porter Ranch, authorities said.
The fire was reported just after 9:15 p.m. in the 12800 block of Tampa Avenue, according to Erik Scott, a spokesman for the Los Angeles Fire Department.
As of 9:40 p.m., the blaze was 3 acres.
The flames burned in a remote area that was difficult for firefighters on the ground to reach, Scott said, adding that helicopters would probably be used for an “aggressive attack.”
No structures were threatened by the fire
