At 5ft7ins, morning TV presenter Ruth Langsford is far from short.
But put her next to Britain’s tallest man and she looks positively minuscule.
The same goes for her husband and co-host of This Morning Eamonn Holmes, who is just a fraction under 5ft10, and had to crane his neck to look up at 7ft 7ins Paul Sturgess on today’s show.
The professional basketball player, 29, who is based in the US but is originally from Loughborough, inherited the title of Britain’s tallest man following the death of Game of Thrones actor Neil Fingleton in February.

The professional basketball player appeared on This Morning to talk about his life at his great height, towering over the two presenters
Paul told Ruth and Eamonn on This Morning that he needs to fuel his 25 stone frame with 7,000 calories a day during rigorous training sessions.
He also revealed that he has his size 19 trainers specially made by Adidas, which sponsors his team, but does find it relatively easy to source clothes in the States.
Although the professional sportsman has already achieved success in America, he is planning to follow in Fingleton’s sizeable footprints by pursuing an acting career.
But returning to the UK does come with a downside, he said, as he revealed to the daytime hosts that he can’t drive because there are no cars big enough.
His height does regularly see him upgraded on flights, however.

Originally from Loughborough, Paul is now based in the United States where he plays basketball for the Harlem Globetrotters
