Police in San Francisco are searching for up to four suspects after three students were shot outside a high school Tuesday in the city’s Excelsior District.
Officials said at a news conference that two young males and a young female were shot. All three were described as juveniles.
The two boys have non-life threatening injuries, according to police. The female victim is in critical condition at a nearby hospital, officials said.
At a news conference Tuesday afternoon, Officer Carlos Manfredi said the shooting happened in the school’s parking lot.
The school was initially placed on lockdown until police searched each room and determined it was not an active shooter situation.
Four male suspects wearing dark hoodies and jeans were spotted leaving the area after the shooting occurred, police said.
The San Francisco Unified School District said on Twitter the students were from June Jordan School for Equity and that one of them was “targeted by outsiders.”
